I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior around the age of 4. I grew up in a Christian home and had the pleasure of attending a Christian school from 6th grade until graduation, where I met my husband, Weston, in 7th grade, in 2007! I really started to take my walk with Christ more seriously in 2008 after I started attending Grace. Church was never my favorite place to go, but after first attending Grace, I realized how much more joyful my life would be if I completely let God take the reins. Life has been a whirlwind of surprises since then, but I wouldn’t change a single moment of it.

What is your favorite season & why?

WINTER. I love the snow. I am one of those people who will sit and stare out the window all day as the snow falls. Plus, Christmas is essentially my favorite day of the year.

What is your favorite treat or snack?

A warm chai. Mmmmm. Delicious. Oh, and brownies. But who doesn’t love brownies?

What is your favorite movie?

Singing In the Rain, Frozen and the Despicable Me movies – people say I remind them of Lucy. If you don’t know who she is you should definitely watch the movies. She’s a hoot.

One thing people don't know about you?

I am the youngest of 6 kids. Family get togethers are loud and crazy but so much fun.

What is your favorite quote?

“Choose joy.” It is as simple as that. Through Christ we have the opportunity to choose joy, every single day, and I find that incredible. Even through hard times and trials we can still find joy.

I accepted Christ on an Easter Sunday in 1990 at a small church in Lakewood, Colorado at the age of 24. From that day on, my life was forever transformed by God’s mercy and grace! Like many, my life has been filled with trials, struggles and triumphs and through it all, I have experienced the unconditional love of a faithful God who never gives up on me. I have learned that it is in Christ alone that gives my life meaning and find my true joy in the power of the cross.

What is your favorite season & why?

Fall - for its beautiful colors and almost perfect weather.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A meteorologist, and I’m still fascinated with the weather. Instead of one career, God provided me with a bounty of experiences that have shaped who I am today - including my roles as a homemaker, marketing manager, event & shows coordinator, small business owner and teacher.

When did you first come to Grace?

Came to Grace in June 2007 and wake up each day so grateful to be a part of this wonderful body of believers and servants!

What is your idea of a perfect day?

Hiking in the Colorado Rockies—nothing is more beautiful to me in God’s creation than the mountains of Colorado and it’s a wonderful place to clear your head and be still before God (Psalm 46:10).

What is your favorite quote?

Some of my favorites are from John Wayne…“Talk low, talk slow and don’t say much” John Wayne “Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday.” John Wayne

I accepted Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior when I was in 7th grade at a Summer Camp. I like to call that moment for me, that I had a “head on collision” with the Jesus Christ! Since then, I’ve been in this process-walking with Jesus as I go, and I’m still in that process today. I’ve been in ministry since 1987, but more specifically in youth ministry since 1997 (volunteer, part-time and full time). I grew up in Arvada and met my high school sweetheart Stacey, to whom I’ve been married to since 1993. I have two of the best daughters I could ever ask for. My oldest is going into her Junior year at Colorado Christian University and my youngest is entering into high school at Faith Christian High School. I’m so humbled and blessed to be a part of this awesome staff and incredible church. Being the Family Ministries Care Pastor is an honor and a humbling position and I want nothing more than to see a family have a “head on collision” with Jesus too, and walk in unity with Him every day.

What is your favorite season & why?

Summer all the way! Because for me and my family, that means we hit the beach somewhere and love being in the sun playing in volleyball tournament, swimming, playing golf or just relaxing on a patio/deck with my family.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be the “Six Million Dollar Man” (AKA: Steve Austin) so much when I was a kid that I literally asked my mom if I could change my name to “Steve”. I wanted to have speed and great eye-sight to which is a bit ironic because I don’t have both of those features now.

What is your biggest challenge?

Continuing to love my wife daily and lead my daughters in a loving relationship with Jesus. Sounds cliché, but it’s my biggest challenge/task that God has given me and I’m continuing to learn from my mistakes as I love my family.

What is your favorite quote?

“It is the mark of a grown-up man, as compared with a callow youth, that he finds his center of gravity wherever he happens to be at the moment, and however much he longs for the object of his desire, it cannot prevent him from staying at his post and doing his duty.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer

I accepted Christ as my Savior at Arvada Christian School, with much influence from the Long family. It was not until about 6 or 7 years ago, through the influence of a dear friend, that I realized, “It is not what you know, but how you apply what you know that is important.” I desire to make God center of everything I do and I am ready for that uphill journey!

What is your favorite season & why?

I prefer oregano, but do like paprika. Cinnamon is good too. And I like the stuff that looks like salt. Oh, that is sugar.

What is your favorite treat or snack?

That one cereal with jelly beans in it.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A little older and maybe a little taller and not as heavy. But really strong!

One thing people don’t know about you?

I am terrified of eating or sitting in a public setting by myself.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

A day that starts with breakfast and when it is almost done, you get dessert. The perfect day!

Born a California girl, (don’t hold it against me!) I was raised in the Bay Area. I accepted Jesus at age 4, while sitting on my mom’s lap and praying with her! I grew up in an amazing church and have always been involved in ministry in some capacity, even as a young kid. I moved to Colorado in 2002 (mountains, where've you been all my life!), married my amazing husband, Charlie in 2004 and in 2010, God blessed us with our lil munchkin and the joy of our lives, Caleb.

What is your favorite season & why?

I LOVE the fall season just when the leaves turn – all the amazing colors, crisp air and sunshine!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Grow up? Who said I have to grow up?! Actually, I really wanted to be Wonder Woman . . . I had the underoos and everything!

One thing people don’t know about you?

Most people don’t know that I’m much older than they think…

What is your biggest challenge?

I’m a control freak…One of my biggest challenges is constantly learning to let go of things I cannot control and trust God to take care of it!

What is your favorite quote?

I have many favorite quotes – one of them is: “What you are is God’s gift to you. What you make of yourself is your gift to God.”

I accepted Christ when I was 11 years old at a Nazarene Church Camp in spite of what I was being taught about no such thing as eternal security. I was a teenager before I knew what it meant to be serving Christ. I did not truly start maturing in my walk until Pastor Rick started preaching. I know it is through the Holy Spirit that I’ve come to where I am today and I have been changed by God's word come through Rick’s sermons. I never had a Father figure in my home, but I knew the Heavenly Father wanted me. I Thank God for His many blessings in my life - from Pennsylvania, to Ohio, to Colorado, to Missouri, to Kansas and finally back to Colorado, God had me in His care even when I didn’t know it.

What is your favorite season & why?

Fall is my favorite time of year, I was married to my Sweetheart on September 18th, 1965. We take our anniversary vacation every year to Estes Park, it is as close to Heaven there is for us. You can not help but feel and see God everywhere there.

What is your favorite treat or snack?

I love blackberry cobbler.

A place you would like to visit?

Israel - but no flying and no cruises. I will have to wait until Jesus takes me there

What is your favorite book?

Book of Romans, I have not read anything better (secular).

What is your idea of a perfect day?

Admiring my God in Estes - looking at His creation, being still and knowing He is God really comes to life there.

I trusted in Jesus Christ when I was 4 years old at my house with my parents.  I was baptized when I was 7 years old by my dad, here at Grace.  I currently live in Arvada and go to Metropolitan State University of Denver.  My parents are Rick and Shelley Long and my three siblings are:  Jordan, Brittany and Jared.  I have had an amazing privilege to go twice to the Amazon Jungle in Peru - both times completely changed my perspective and attitude on life as well as my relationship with God.  I continue to learn every day how God's plans are much greater than my own plans and I need to give him full control of my life every day!  He has given me an incredible family and I am so blessed to have their influence in my life.  I'm blessed to get the opportunity to attend the best church every week and see the gospel shared to everyone who comes!

What is your favorite season & why?

I love every season but I love Fall because of the changing colors and the possibility of snow and perfect temperatures!

What or who inspires you most?

My parents are my biggest inspiration.  I do not know any other people who are more caring and sacrificial than my two parents, they will do anything for anyone!  They also know how to live life to the fullest and make life as enjoyable as it can be!

What is your favorite treat or snack?

My favorite dessert is cookie dough ice cream.

One thing people don't know about you?

People may not know that I am left-handed but I play a lot of sports (except basketball) with my right hand.

What is your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge has been accepting God's plans for my life and not my own.  I also have a very hard time saying "no" to people because I want to help everyone I can.

What is your favorite quote?

Obstacles don't have to stop you.  If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up.  Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. - Michael Jordan

God has blessed me with the opportunity to grow up in a Christian home right here in Colorado, and I accepted Christ as Lord of my life when I was 7 years old. I was baptized a couple years later in the church my family attended in Littleton. I love the opportunities to see God work through the little details of our lives, and thank Him for leading us to Grace. I currently live in Arvada with my husband, Scott and our three boys, Josh, Robert, and Tim.

What is your favorite season & why?

I enjoy seeing God change our surroundings from season to season.  I love stepping on the fall leaves and hearing them crunch, knowing that the snow will soon be on it's way - and then the snowball throwing can begin!

What or who inspires you most?

My Great Aunt Helen – she was known as a prayer warrior. I want people to say that about me some day.

What is your favorite treat or snack?

Anytime chocolate is served with berries, I'm hungry.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I was going to be a nurse or a teacher… then I had biology class. So I grew up to be a wife and mom,  have always been involved in children’s ministry, and taught reading classes for several years.

What is your favorite book?

Not My Will and Then Am I Strong by Francena H. Arnold; Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers; and the list goes on and on ... I love to read.

I trusted Christ at a young age in Sunday School.  It wasn't until coming to Grace that I began to understand what Christ had done for me and began growing in my relationship with Him.  I'm beyond thankful that God led our family to Grace where we're loved and encouraged weekly.  I'm married to my wonderful husband, Eric and we have five beautiful kids - three of which we're raising right now; Brenden, Cole and Brady.

What is your favorite season & why?

I love the spring because I can dig in the dirt and plant flowers.  Spring here in Colorado is so beautiful and the temperature is perfect - not too hot and not too cold.  I love the fall as well.

What is your favorite movie?

The Blind Side

When did you first come to Grace?

We first attended Grace in 2005 and making Grace our home was the best decision we've made for our family.

What is your biggest challenge?

I struggle with worrying too much.  I need to rest in the fact that our God is in control and I'm not.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

Spending a sunny, warm day with my family doing whatever:  biking, hiking, walking - just being together.

What is your favorite quote?

Be who God created you to be and you will set the world on fire - St. Catherine of Siena
