I was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1981 with two loving and caring parents. I am the second son of 3 and also have 1 youngest sister. Being 1 of 4 children I learned to fight for my place. I was a challenging child (to say the least) and looking back now I feel empathy for my parents. I pushed the envelope always. This was my biggest strength but their hardest challenge. I have a past riddled with poor life choices and mistakes but also very valuable lessons. My life was changed and I began down a new path when I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior in 2010. My circumstances didn’t all the sudden change but my heart and reasons for living certainly did. I stumbled upon an amazingly gentle, loving and beautiful woman at a ministry right here at Grace Church and I somehow got her to marry me a short time later. We are a step family with 2 boys and 2 girls and it is a wild and crazy journey that I love very much. Professionally, (prior to coming on staff) I have a 12 year career in Relationship / Client Management in the Stock Transfer industry. Before this, I was a Fireman, Janitor, Bus Boy, Remodel Contractor, Auto Mechanic, Low Voltage Cable Technician and a Lot Tech. Looking back now, all these experiences have positioned me perfectly with Grace Church and I am in an amazing position here to help further the Kingdom of God. My wife and children keep me grounded and humble always. Spending time with them and endless physical activity are my two great passions.

What or who inspires you most?

Living a healthy life physically, emotionally and spiritually inspires me to constantly be better than the day before. I have several dear friends in my small group that inspire me to be a better man each day I see them and the person who I look up to the most is my father. He passed away a few years ago but the legacy and lessons I learned from him are life long and the ones I can pass down to my children today.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A fireman and I did it. It was awesome, challenging and the one thing I took away from it other than helping people in need was how to think clearly, quickly and logically under pressure.

What is your biggest challenge?

Sitting Criss Cross Apple Sauce. I despise sitting that way and sitting in general.

What is your favorite book?

I am not someone who enjoys reading but as I get older I am beginning to. I’d say Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis transformed my perspective the most but as far as my favorite book I’d say The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain.

What is your favorite quote?

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. - Theodore Roosevelt

I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, growing up in a very loving and caring Christian home. At the age of four, my parents moved our family (me and three older brothers) to Arvada. I was baptized as a small child, and accepted Jesus as my personal savior in Sunday school when I was nine years old. I believe God has continued to reassure me that being a believer has brought me closer to my faith and walk with God. My husband Gary and I attended Arvada High School, got married in 1986 and have a beautiful daughter Kymberlee.

What is your favorite treat or snack?

I have a hard time passing up anything with the word CHOCOLATE in it!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a veterinarian; but I quickly learned that if I got into that profession, that I would have to own a farm due to my love for animals. I would have adopted every stray animal that ever came into my office.

A place you would like to visit?

I would like to go back east during the fall and see the colors in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

What is your favorite book?

I don’t really have a favorite book but a favorite author would be Karen Kingsbury who is a great Christian writer.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

My idea of a perfect day would be with the family spending the day at a beautiful lake in the Colorado Mountains. It doesn’t get any better than that!!

I’m a Colorado native and I attended a Lutheran Church with my Mom between the ages of 10 and 14 – I learned about God and Jesus but it was only religion to me, not personal. As a teenager and young adult, I chose to walk away and TRY to live my life without God. After losing my Dad in 1997 and going through a divorce in 1998 – I realized I couldn’t go through life without God and I returned to Church. I came to Grace in the summer of 2001, heard the clear Gospel and I finally got IT and now have that relationship that I was missing for so many years.

What is your favorite season & why?

I love that we have all four seasons in Colorado but my favorite is definitely summer – sunshine, warm weather, outdoor activities, visiting Glenwood Springs and spending time in our beautiful majestic mountains – Colorado is definitely God’s country!

What is your favorite treat or snack?

Chocolate Chip Cookies & Raspberry Chai from Starbucks

I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado - with my younger sister, mother and father. I married my husband, Mike, in 1983. I became a Christian in 1997 when my friend/coach lead me to the Lord. Having struggled with being a new Christian, I turned to my friend, Budd Long and he suggested that I come to his bible study group. This helped me tremendously in my walk. Being around “seasoned” believers helped Mike and I grow considerably. “When I started attending Grace Church, I knew this is the place where God was leading me. To learn, grow and serve God and His people.”

What is your favorite season & why?

I love the winter, but the spring is my most favorite. Watching all the new leaves come out and the grass starting to grow…reminds me of a rebirth of life.

A bad day of fishing is better than any good day at work. (Unless your staff at Grace!)

I am very thankful to have grown up in a strong Christian home and I accepted Christ when I was about four. I really grew into my faith and developed a close relationship with God throughout high school and college. I am constantly amazed at how much God blesses me with so much more than I deserve with such an amazing family, group of friends, and job here at Grace. I just recently moved back to Colorado after graduating from college in Iowa and I’m loving soaking up all Colorado has to offer with all the wonderful people in my life.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

My entire life I dreamed of being a dolphin trainer, actually that still is my dream. If you find any dolphins in Colorado that need training let me know!

I first visited Grace at the age of 15 with my dad. I returned again at the age of 25, just after I was married to my beautiful wife, Julie. I accepted Christ that year. I volunteered at Grace for almost 10 years in the IT and Media Departments. I am now full-time, fulfilling the role of Technology Director.

Spring - during the spring, we see a new beginning of life everywhere.  The temperature is perfect, not hot yet but the dark, cold days of winter have passed.

I grew up knowing about Jesus and that he died on the cross for the sins of the world; but it wasn't made personal to me until the early 90’s when I heard the clear Gospel after attending Grace. I’m a Colorado native and currently live in Arvada with my husband Keith, our daughters Sarah and Kortnie and my Mom Alida.

What is your favorite season & why?

I enjoy spring when everything turns green and flowers start to bloom but Summer is my favorite because I love hot weather.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

What is your biggest challenge?

Watching my Mom get older and adjusting to the challenges of caring for her.
